Updated 7 October 2026. On 5 October 2026, Spain's Ministry of Finance announced that Verifactu is being postponed to October 2028 for everyone, companies and self-employed alike. The change still has to be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE); until then, the legal deadlines remain 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for everyone else.

Verifactu checklist for online stores: 12 checks before your deadline

Updated 24 August 2026 · , Softnet Sistemas (Alicante, Spain, since 1996)

The list we use with our own clients, as a printable PDF: tick it with your advisor or your vendor in front of you. All 12 points are in the open below; the PDF (ES+EN) adds each box's notes, the official sources and the print format.

The 12 checks (here, in the open)

A · Does it apply to you, and from when?
  1. Do you issue invoices with software (POS, ERP, your store's module…)?
  2. Write down YOUR deadline: 1 Jan 2027 (companies) · 1 Jul 2027 (self-employed and others), with the postponement to October 2028 announced and pending publication in the BOE.
  3. Are you under SII or in a foral territory (Basque Country / Navarre)?
B · Your invoicing software (get it IN WRITING)
  1. Ask your vendor for their responsible declaration of compliance.
  2. Ask which mode: VERI*FACTU (real-time submission) or “non-verifiable”?
  3. Check every invoice will carry its QR code and the legend.
  4. Ask what happens on corrections: credit note or “delete and redo”?
C · Your online store (the usual blind spot)
  1. Does your PrestaShop / WooCommerce generate invoices? That module is a SIF too.
  2. Invoicing from TWO places (store and ERP)? Choose your model.
  3. Selling on Amazon or other marketplaces? You are still the issuer.
D · Plan and risks
  1. Put a date on adapting your software.
  2. Know the fine: up to €50,000 per tax year (art. 201 bis LGT).

Frequently asked questions

Is the PDF really free?

Yes: you download it by confirming your email (double opt-in) and you only join this download's list — one-click unsubscribe. We share it because it is the same list we use with clients.

What does the PDF add over this page?

Each box carries its practical note (what to ask for exactly, and why), the official sources with their BOE reference, and a printable A4 format in Spanish and English.

What if I end up with red boxes?

Start with the calculator (your case and date in one minute) and, if your store runs PrestaShop or WooCommerce, VeriVenta gets it compliant in VERI*FACTU mode.

Does this also cover B2B e-invoicing?

No: they are different obligations. This checklist covers Verifactu (published 2027 deadlines; postponement to October 2028 announced, pending publication in the BOE); B2B e-invoicing has its own dates (October 2027 and October 2028, Order HAC/1028/2026) — see its guide and waiting list on the e-invoicing page.

Red boxes in part C?

If your store runs PrestaShop or WooCommerce, VeriVenta gets it compliant in VERI*FACTU mode — installed, tested and supported from Alicante, Spain.
